Job Description


As a Security Officer Access Screening Driver in Sulphur, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic chemical and petrochemical location as an Access Control professional in a driving post. You will monitor entry points, verify badges and credentials, conduct routine patrols, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. This role supports a caring, agile, and reliable team culture while helping to reduce security-related incidents through professionalism, visibility, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, credential checks, and visitor processing at a chemical and petrochemical location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, screen incoming personnel and/or vehicles, and document arrivals, departures, and restricted area access in accordance with site policies.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or unusual activity in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant details to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, control points, and perimeter areas to help support security-related awareness and report potential concerns.
  • Assist with emergency response activities, traffic direction, and post orders related to hazardous industrial operations while following established client and Allied Universal protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • One or more years of law enforcement experience, two or more years of security-related supervisor/manager experience, or three or more years of security-related experience are required.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
