Job Description


As a Security Officer Licensed Patrol Guard in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, Shelter, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer in a dynamic tech, media, telecom and shelter location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, following post orders, and supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting observations and reporting concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including common areas, entrances, exits, hallways, and perimeter areas, to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site policies, helping to verify authorized entry, direct residents and guests, and report unusual behavior and/or policy violations.
  • Support a professional environment at a shelter and technology-focused location by assisting with de-escalation, addressing disruptions with professionalism, and communicating clearly with staff, residents, visitors, and emergency responders when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
