As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Guardian in Alexandria, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. In this government transit location, you will perform armed patrol duties, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assist riders and visitors with professionalism. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or passengers by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site contacts and/or supervisors.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, platforms, parking areas, access points, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and public areas, verifying access permissions when required and providing directions or assistance in accordance with government location protocols.
• Support transportation and facility operations by observing for suspicious behavior, unattended items, and/or operational issues, then communicating findings through proper reporting channels.

Minimum Requirements:

• An armed guard card or license is required.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
