Job Description


As a Security Officer Field Patrol Driver in Thousand Oaks, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, where you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment through strong customer service and communication. This is a driving post, offering the opportunity to stay active while delivering reliable service with integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or tenants by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and communicate relevant information to site contacts and/or local authorities as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including common areas, storefront corridors, parking areas, and perimeter access points, helping to identify unusual activity and/or maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas to help support site rules, observe visitor and/or vendor activity, and report suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or hazards.
  • Complete routine reports and document incidents, patrol activity, and/or noteworthy observations in accordance with Allied Universal standards and site-specific expectations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • The ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
