Job Description


As a Security Guard - Armed Rover Patrol in Manassas, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location as a patrol officer supporting day-to-day security-related operations. You will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter incidents, support access control, and document activity with clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff by following Allied Universal and site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and post orders, and when appropriate, supporting emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate personnel and/or public emergency services as directed by site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of government office areas, corridors, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter, noting and reporting irregular conditions.
  • Control access by monitoring entry points, verifying identification and/or credentials when required, directing visitors to proper locations, and assisting with sign-in processes per site policy.
  • Complete detailed security-related reports, maintain logs of patrols and incidents, and communicate observations to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 1 or more years of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Have 1 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Have an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
