As a Security Officer - Entry Screening in Reno, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener supporting a government location, where you will greet visitors, help manage access at screening checkpoints, observe for potential security-related concerns, and document activity. You will remain visible, communicate clearly with the public and site staff, and respond to situations with professionalism. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors at a government location by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct entry screening at designated checkpoints, including verifying identification and credentials, processing visitors, and operating screening equipment such as walk-through metal detectors, handheld wands, and x-ray systems in accordance with site guidelines.
  • Monitor access points and controlled areas, help to deter unauthorized entry, and communicate access concerns to appropriate personnel while maintaining a professional, service-focused presence.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with queue management, reporting suspicious activity, and supporting evacuations and/or other response procedures as directed.
  • Complete required logs and reports, document screening results and incidents, and perform regular and random patrols of nearby interior areas and perimeter routes as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 6+ months of security-related experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, which is preferred.
  • Have X-ray screening experience, which is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
