Must have Armed Virginia DCJS License with Firearm Endorsement

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff by following site-specific procedures, access control requirements, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to appropriate personnel and/or public responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances, lobbies, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Screen individuals and vehicles as required, verify identification and authorization, and maintain visitor logs and/or access records in accordance with post orders.
  • Complete security-related reports and daily activity logs, communicate observations to site leadership, and maintain assigned equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies and post requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 2 years of security experience.
  • Have an Armed Guard Card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
  • Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet preferred.
  • Have access control and/or badge experience preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
