Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Driver Field Patrol in Homestead, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will conduct routine patrols of buildings and grounds, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to calls with calm, clear communication and customer service. This is an armed post requiring a valid armed guard card/license. You will also drive as part of the assignment, so a valid driver’s license is required. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, residents, guests, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards, maintenance issues, and policy concerns.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and calls for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and coordinating with location management and emergency services as needed.
  • Monitor access points, verify identification and/or authorization where required, manage visitor logs, and support orderly entry and exit while maintaining professional communication.
  • Complete detailed shift reports and incident documentation, preserve observations and relevant information, and maintain compliance with all armed post requirements, training, and weapon handling protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 1+ years' armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
