Job Description


As a Security Officer - Driver Site Patrol in Fairfax, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Allied Universal officer at a retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and assist shoppers and tenants with courteous service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, supporting mobile coverage and quick response across the property. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to tenants, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail shopping location.
  • Monitor entrances, common areas, and loading or delivery zones to help to deter unauthorized activity, and assist with access control, directions, and general inquiries.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, supporting loss prevention concerns, and coordinating with site leadership and local authorities as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout interior retail corridors, parking areas, and the property perimeter, documenting observations and reporting maintenance or operational issues.
  • Complete detailed written and/or electronic reports, including incident reports, patrol logs, and shift activity summaries, in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Comfortable using computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
