Job Description


As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol, Driving Role in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As an unarmed, driving patrol officer at a residential community, you will help monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete vehicle rounds, and remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will document observations, respond to resident and/or visitor concerns with strong customer service, and communicate clearly with your team. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and property staff by following site-specific, security-related procedures, policies, and post orders, and by supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout residential buildings, common areas, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor access points and respond to visitor and vendor inquiries, assisting with directing traffic and/or coordinating entry in accordance with property guidelines.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and resident concerns in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting additional assistance from site leadership and/or emergency services when needed.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and observations in written and/or electronic reports, and communicate significant updates to property management and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
