Job Description


As a Security Guard - Armed Patrol in Charlotte, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a financial institution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a highly visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and concerns with calm professionalism. You will communicate clearly with staff and visitors while documenting activity and escalating issues as needed. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or contractors by following site-specific procedures and security-related policies within a financial services location.
  • Carry and maintain assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with licensing requirements, post orders, and Allied Universal policies.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations through required documentation and/or communication channels.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of lobbies, offices, parking areas, and the perimeter, monitoring for irregular activity and/or policy violations that may help to deter unwanted behavior.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, directing foot and vehicle traffic, and coordinating with site contacts and/or local authorities when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have prior military and honorable DD214 discharge, prior law enforcement or Criminal Justice degree for hiring consideration
  • Client requires proof of HS Diploma/GED.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Armed Guard Card/License is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
