Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver Rover in Long Beach, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. Join Allied Universal on an armed, driving patrol post supporting a commercial real estate location. You will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and tenant concerns with clear communication and strong customer service. Working with a team that values integrity, innovation, and reliability, you will document activity and share timely updates to help keep operations running smoothly.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
  • Carry and maintain an assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policy, post orders and applicable laws, including completing required checks and documentation.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, common areas, parking areas and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity, identify hazards and report maintenance concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, contacting law enforcement and/or emergency services when needed, and providing direction to occupants.
  • Control access by monitoring entry points, verifying identification and/or authorization, managing visitor processes, and completing detailed incident and patrol reports in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An armed guard card/license is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
