Job Description


As a Security Officer - Access Gate Driver in Sulphur, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal at a chemical and/or petrochemical location supporting access control and badge operations. You will greet personnel, verify credentials, manage visitor processing, and help maintain accurate entry logs using computer or tablet systems. You will also conduct routine patrols and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents while delivering strong customer service and clear communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license in the job state.


Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $15.50 / Hour

Requirements: 1+ Years' Law Enforcement Experience OR 2+ Years' Security Supervisor/Manager Experience OR 3+ Years' Security Experience

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Screen and process employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors using approved identification and credential verification methods, and manage entry and exit through gates, guard shacks, and/or turnstiles.
  • Maintain accurate logs and reports of access activity, deliveries, and incidents, and communicate updates to site contacts and/or Allied Universal supervision as required.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including supporting evacuations, muster points, and coordination with on-site teams and/or local responders when directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including checking fence lines, controlled areas, and access points for irregular conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Have 1 or more years of law enforcement experience or 2 or more years of security supervisor or manager experience or 3 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be able to lift up to 20 pounds, preferred.
  • Have access control and badge experience, preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
