Job Description


As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Cyclist in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns, document observations, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while delivering professional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, patients, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a healthcare-related facility.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior areas, corridors, parking areas, loading docks, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify maintenance and/or hazard concerns for reporting.
  • Monitor access points, verify identification and/or authorization, manage visitor check-in and directions, and help maintain orderly movement through controlled and restricted areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, medical emergencies, disputes, and suspicious activity, and coordinate notifications to site leadership and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Complete daily activity logs and incident reports, observe and report irregular conditions, and assist with maintaining chain-of-custody awareness for sensitive areas, property, and/or materials as directed by site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security experience.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A state, county, and/or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
