Job Description


As a Security Officer Armed Utility Patrol Driver in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed, driving patrol officer supporting a busy retail location. You will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, respond to calls for assistance, and document observations with clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to store associates, vendors, and shoppers while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location, sales floor, parking areas, and perimeter, noting unusual activity and helping to deter theft, vandalism, and other unwanted behavior.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, alarms, and requests for assistance from management.
  • Control access to restricted areas, monitor entrances and/or exits, and support loss prevention efforts through presence, observation, and communication with store leadership.
  • Document daily activities, incidents, and patrol observations in written reports, and handle assigned equipment and firearms in accordance with Allied Universal policies and applicable laws.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An Armed Guard Card and/or license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A Level III Armed Certification is required for Texas only.
  • Have at least 5 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
