As a Security Guard - Armed Patrol Facility -Weekends in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed patrol officer at a cultural institution, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help support a welcoming environment for staff and visitors. You will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, respond to alarms and/or requests for assistance, and document activities while delivering respectful customer service and clear communication. This role requires an Armed Guard Card or License.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or members by carrying out site-specific procedures, client policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Perform armed patrol duties in accordance with licensing requirements, post orders, and Allied Universal protocols, helping to deter unwanted activity through high visibility presence.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including entrances, gathering areas, offices, and exterior perimeter, noting and reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or unauthorized access.
  • Monitor access points, verify identification and/or credentials when required, manage visitor entry procedures, and support orderly movement during services, events, and high-traffic periods.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, document security-related activity in written reports, and communicate updates to site leadership and/or responding authorities as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
