Job Description


As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Officer in San Antonio, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a residential community location, you will support access control by greeting residents and guests, verifying credentials, managing visitor entries, and documenting activity using a computer or tablet. You will also conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and respond with clear communication and customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and vendors by following site-specific access control procedures and other security-related policies.
  • Control vehicle and pedestrian entry at gates or entrances by verifying credentials, issuing visitor passes when authorized, and directing traffic flow as needed.
  • Monitor for unauthorized access, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations, and report concerns through required notification and documentation channels to help to deter incidents.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with property management and/or emergency services when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the residential community, common areas, and perimeter, noting irregularities and completing activity and incident reports per post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
