As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Driver in Chapel Hill, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a residential community location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine vehicle patrols, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to calls, document activity, and deliver strong customer service and communication for residents, guests, and staff. This is a driving post requiring a valid drivers license. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors, and property staff by following Allied Universal and site-specific security-related procedures, access control practices, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of common areas, amenities, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify maintenance or policy concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disputes, disturbances, medical calls, and fire or alarm activations, and request public emergency services as needed.
  • Monitor and document access and activity throughout the location, including observing cameras and/or alarm panels when assigned, and completing detailed written reports and incident documentation.
  • Communicate clearly with property management and/or law enforcement regarding ongoing issues, follow post orders and escalation guidelines, and assist with resident service requests within the scope of the post.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
