Job Description


As a Security Officer - Hotel Patrol in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will assist staff, patients, and visitors with directions and service-focused communication while observing and reporting unusual activity. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by following Allied Universal and site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and post orders within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, using verbal de-escalation and clear communication.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus grounds, parking areas, entrances, and interior corridors to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior; working conditions may vary by site area.
  • Control access at designated points by monitoring entrances, verifying credentials when required, directing visitors to appropriate destinations, and/or reporting access concerns to site leadership.
  • Document security-related incidents and observations in written reports, notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as needed, and assist with site drills and emergency response activities when appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
