As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver Rounds in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a retail and mall location, you will conduct routine mobile and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm professionalism. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license and an armed post requiring the appropriate armed guard card. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients at a retail location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the store, parking areas, receiving areas, and perimeter to help to deter theft, trespassing, and other unwanted activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating confrontations and coordinating with local law enforcement and/or emergency services when needed.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas, verify authorized access to back-of-house areas, and assist with loss prevention efforts by observing and reporting suspicious behavior.
  • Complete reports and logs for incidents, patrol activity, and notable observations, and communicate timely updates to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Level III Armed Certification is required for Texas only.
  • A minimum of 5 years of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
