Job Description


As a Security Guard - Flex Driving Role Patrol in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will assist customers and store teams with clear communication, report concerns, and support a welcoming shopping experience. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and guests at a retail location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the sales floor, entrances and exits, back-of-house areas, and parking perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
  • Monitor and report suspicious behavior, possible theft activity, and policy violations, and communicate observations to store management and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and coordinating with local law enforcement and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Complete shift reports and incident documentation, and use radios and/or other communication tools to support coverage and coordinate response across the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
