Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Driver Response in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government transit location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and calls for service. This is an armed, driving post, supporting a professional public-facing environment through clear communication, detailed reporting, and respectful customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or passengers by following post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Carry and maintain assigned equipment in accordance with licensing requirements, Allied Universal policies, and site-specific procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with supervisors and/or local public agencies as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, transit areas, parking lots, and perimeter zones; document unusual activity and help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Complete required reports and logs, including incident documentation, patrol activity, and security-related observations, and communicate status updates via radio and/or phone.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A minimum of 1+ years armed security/law enforcement/military experience is required.
  • An armed guard card/license is required.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • A 40 caliber endorsement is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
