You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and respond to requests with clear communication and professional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, campus policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence hall areas, parking lots, and perimeter areas; document unusual conditions and report concerns to the appropriate contacts.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disruptive behavior, fire and/or alarm activations, and other campus incidents.
  • Monitor access points and assist with access control activities such as checking identification, logging visitors, and supporting key and/or credential control in accordance with site-specific policies.
  • Complete written and/or electronic reports such as incident reports, shift activity logs, and patrol documentation; communicate relevant security-related information to campus partners and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
