As a Security Guard - Evening Property Rounds in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location supporting vital community services, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and complete routine rounds and reports. You will assist with access control and visitor badging while delivering respectful customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior areas, entrances, common spaces, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points by observing visitor, resident, and staff movement, supporting orderly entry and exit, and directing individuals to appropriate check-in and/or service areas per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical calls, and/or facility alarms, and coordinate with site management and public responders as directed.
  • Complete required reports and logs, document incidents and observations, and communicate updates to site leadership and/or incoming shifts following Allied Universal protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 6+ months of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
