Job Description


As a Security Guard - Access Control Driver in Sulphur, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location where you will support access control operations by greeting employees and visitors, verifying credentials, issuing badges, and managing entry logs. You will remain visible, conduct routine patrols, and communicate clearly to help reduce security-related incidents while delivering a people-first customer experience. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, backed by a team that values agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, contractors, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and access control requirements at an industrial location.
  • Control entry and exit at designated gates and/or checkpoints by verifying identification, processing visitor and contractor sign-in, issuing badges and/or passes, and directing individuals to approved locations.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound vehicle and pedestrian traffic, coordinate with site contacts for access approvals, and document deliveries, pickups, and other authorized movements per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, following emergency response activities, and completing required reports.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, nearby buildings, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or suspicious activity, and report observed hazards or policy violations to site leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Have 1+ years' law enforcement experience or 2+ years' security supervisor/manager experience or 3+ years' security experience.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
