Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Driver Patrol in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced government transportation location as an armed, driving patrol officer. You will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, respond to alarms and incidents, and support riders, staff, and visitors with strong communication and customer service. This post requires an Armed Guard Card and/or License and a valid driver’s license. Bring teamwork, integrity, and a people-first mindset.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out post orders, security-related procedures, and site-specific policies within a government transit location, including interaction with staff, visitors, and/or the public.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter prohibited activity and/or unauthorized access.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, radio communications, and coordination with on-site personnel and/or public responders as directed.
  • Monitor access points and conduct security-related screening and/or checks as assigned, documenting unusual activity and following escalation protocols when policy violations are observed.
  • Complete written and/or electronic reports, activity logs, and incident documentation; maintain required training, licensing, and firearms handling standards in accordance with company policy and applicable regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • At least 1+ years' armed security/law enforcement/military experience is required.
  • An armed guard card/license is required.
  • Must be 21+ years of age.
  • A 40 caliber endorsement is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
