As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence that can help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to situations with clear communication, document observations, and deliver customer service with professionalism. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or contractors at a government corrections location by following site-specific procedures, access requirements, and security-related protocols.
  • Carry and maintain assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, post orders, and applicable laws, including completing required checks, documentation, and/or training activities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including requesting assistance, coordinating with on-site personnel, and supporting emergency response activities as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity, identify hazards, and report concerns through established communication channels.
  • Control access at designated points by verifying identification, monitoring entry and exit activity, screening for prohibited items per post orders, and completing accurate security-related reports and logs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • An armed guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
