Job Description


As a Security Officer - Patrol Officer in Lihue, HI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a tech, media, and telecom location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, remain highly visible, and help to deter security-related incidents. You will monitor assigned areas, respond to calls and/or alarms, support access control procedures, and document observations with clear reports. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or staff by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the property, common areas, and perimeter, noting unusual activity and conditions that may help to deter unwanted behavior.
  • Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, unauthorized entry attempts, and/or policy violations to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation and coordination with local responders when needed.
  • Complete detailed shift reports, incident documentation, and patrol logs, and communicate updates to on-site contacts using phones, radios, and/or approved reporting tools.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
