Job Description


As a Security Officer - Fleet Patrol Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy healthcare location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with professional customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. You will communicate clearly, document observations, and respond to calls for assistance with an agile, reliable, and people-first approach rooted in teamwork and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of hospital buildings, parking areas, entrances, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring doors and entry points during patrols, verifying credentials when required, and directing visitors to appropriate check-in areas.
  • Complete incident reports and patrol logs, communicate observations to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts, and support medical staff with de-escalation and customer service presence as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A minimum of 6 months of security experience is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • The ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
