Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Utility Patrol in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible, and respond to security-related concerns with calm professionalism. You will complete detailed reports, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and help to deter incidents through your presence and awareness. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and contractors at a government location by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response protocols when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points, noting unusual activity and helping to deter unauthorized access.
  • Monitor access control points and verify identification, credentials, and/or permits as required by post orders, documenting entries and exits.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and calls for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and local public agencies as needed.
  • Complete detailed reports, logs, and evidence documentation for security-related incidents, patrol observations, and policy violations, and communicate status updates to supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An armed guard card/license is required.
  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma/GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • DD214 with Honorable Discharge OR Associates Degree/60 College Credits OR Police Academy Certificate OR Corrections Academy Certificate is required.
  • State, County, or City Issued Security License is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
