Job Description


As an Armed Security Officer - Patrol in Aurora, CO, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor assigned areas through routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and support access control and visitor interactions. You will communicate clearly, respond to calls for service, document observations, and work as part of a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and grounded in integrity and a people-first culture.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or the public at a government location by following site-specific procedures, access control requirements, and security-related protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to alarms, calls for service, and/or critical incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner, taking appropriate action and requesting law enforcement, medical, and/or fire response when needed.
  • Carry and maintain assigned defensive equipment, including an authorized firearm, in accordance with Allied Universal policies, post orders, and applicable laws, completing required checks and documentation.
  • Document security-related activities, incidents, patrol observations, and/or interactions in written reports and logs, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 3+ years' combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Have an armed guard card/license.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • Access control/badge experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
