Job Description


As a Security Officer Mall Patrol Driver in Newport Beach, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail mall location, you will monitor common areas, conduct routine tours, and remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, and you may use a company and/or site vehicle to cover larger areas and support response needs. You will assist guests and tenants with clear communication while living Allied Universal values through teamwork and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to guests, tenants, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail and/or mall location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of common areas, parking areas, loading and delivery zones, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with lost children, disorderly persons, medical calls, and/or other tenant and guest concerns.
  • Monitor and/or control access points as assigned, help manage crowd flow during peak shopping periods and special events, and provide directions and assistance to visitors.
  • Document routine activity and incidents in written reports, and communicate observations to site leadership, property staff, and/or local emergency services as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Pepper spray certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
