As a Security Officer Flex TWIC Checkpoint in Galveston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location where you will support access control operations by welcoming visitors, confirming credentials, managing entry logs, and coordinating with site teams on arrivals and deliveries. You will remain visible at key checkpoints, communicate clearly by phone and radio, and help to deter security-related incidents through attentive screening and customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to all visitors and personnel by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Control access at gates and/or entry points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, managing entry and exit logs, and directing traffic flow in accordance with site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site contacts and/or emergency services and completing required reports.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and other access control systems; investigate irregular activity and escalate concerns per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, process areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by the Transportation Security Administration is required.
  • A guard card and/or security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
