Job Description


As a Security Officer - Mobile Patrol in South Boston, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal at a manufacturing and industrial location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and support daily operations with clear communication. You will conduct routine rounds, observe activity, document key details, and assist employees and visitors with professional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, contractors, employees, and visitors by following post orders, site-specific policies, and Allied Universal procedures and/or guidelines.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, warehouses, offices, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or access.
  • Monitor access points, gates, and delivery areas; verify identification and/or credentials as required; and direct visitors and drivers to the appropriate location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; initiate site-specific emergency response activities and notify appropriate contacts.
  • Prepare clear reports and logs of patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related concerns; communicate updates to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
