Job Description


As a Security Officer - Perimeter Patrol in New Gretna, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor assigned areas through routine patrols, access control, and clear communication. You will stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, respond to alarms, and support employees and visitors with customer-focused service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, drivers and/or visitors by following Allied Universal and site-specific security-related procedures, policies and post orders, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of production areas, warehouses, yards, parking areas, and perimeter points, documenting unusual conditions and reporting concerns.
  • Control access at entrances and/or gates by checking identification and/or credentials, issuing visitor instructions per site policy, and monitoring deliveries and outbound shipments for authorization.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras and/or other monitoring systems as assigned, and respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while coordinating notifications per protocol.
  • Complete daily activity reports, incident reports and patrol logs with accurate details, and communicate observations to site management and/or Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 2 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be 21 or more years of age.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
