Job Description


As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Driver in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy retail location, you will conduct routine patrols on foot and by vehicle, remain highly visible, and respond to security-related concerns with calm, professional communication and customer service. This is an armed post requiring Level III Armed Certification, and a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license that meets AU Driver Policy Requirements. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to guests, associates, and/or vendors at a retail location while following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Carry and maintain assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with post orders, applicable training, and local/state requirements; use sound judgment and professional communication during all interactions.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including potential theft, disturbances, and/or medical events; request law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout sales floors, entrances, loading and receiving areas, parking lots, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Document and report security-related activity, hazards, and/or policy violations using required reports and systems; support investigations by preserving observations and relevant information.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Hold a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
