Job Description


As a Security Officer - Unarmed Driver Patrol in Boonton, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a utilities location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. This is a driving post, so you will use a company-approved vehicle to support patrol coverage, respond to concerns, and provide strong customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and applicable utility location protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, operational areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points, gates, and/or alarm panels as assigned, verifying authorization and directing visitors, contractors, and deliveries according to site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, initiating notifications and documented actions per post orders.
  • Complete accurate reports and logs, document incidents and observations, and communicate pertinent information to supervisors and/or site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Possess proof of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
