Job Description


As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Circuit in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government transit location. You will conduct routine patrols and remain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, monitor activity, and assist staff and visitors with clear, professional communication. Working with a caring team that values integrity, you will respond to situations with calm judgment, document observations, and adapt quickly in an agile, reliable, and innovative environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to riders, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at government transportation locations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards and maintenance concerns for reporting.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including providing clear directions, crowd management support, and timely notifications to appropriate personnel.
  • Monitor access points and key areas, verify identification and/or credentials when required, and document visitor, vendor, and employee activity per post orders.
  • Complete detailed reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and/or site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
