As a Security Officer - Flex Site Patrol in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer in an education setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support staff, students, and visitors with customer-focused service, clear communication, and timely reporting. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas; conditions may vary by assignment.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and calls for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards and coordinating with campus resources as directed.
  • Monitor access points and observe activity for unusual conditions that may help to deter unwanted activity; verify identification and/or authorization when required by site policy.
  • Complete timely reports and logs, document incidents and observations, and communicate relevant updates to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 2+ years of law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.
  • Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
