As a Security Guard - Gatehouse Driver in Garland, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet drivers and employees, verify credentials, manage entry and exit points, and document security-related activity using site systems. You will maintain a visible presence, communicate clearly with operations teams, and help support smooth traffic flow. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, backed by a caring, agile team that leads with integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to guests, drivers, and employees by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification, checking appointment and/or delivery information, issuing visitor credentials, and directing traffic flow for pedestrians and vehicles.
  • Monitor CCTV, access control systems, alarms, and radio traffic; document security-related activity in daily logs and incident reports per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility interior, exterior, and perimeter, including dock areas and parking lots, noting and reporting unusual conditions and/or policy violations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1+ years of security experience.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
