Job Description


As a Security Officer - Patrol Driver in Manson, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location as an armed patrol officer with a valid driver’s license. You will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce incidents, control access, respond to alarms and/or disturbances, and document activity with clear reports. You will deliver helpful customer service while communicating with staff and public partners, backed by a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and guided by integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following site-specific security-related procedures and post orders within a government corrections location, including verifying authorization for entry and exit.
  • Perform armed patrol duties indoors and outdoors, conducting regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as needed.
  • Monitor access points, gates, and controlled areas, assisting with traffic control and/or movement coordination as directed, and reporting suspicious items, contraband indicators, or unusual conditions.
  • Operate security-related equipment such as radios, cameras, and access control systems, completing required logs and reports, and handling issued firearm and gear in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
