Job Description


As a Security Officer - Unarmed Site Rounds in Canton, MS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a fast-paced tech location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control and badge checks, document activity, and communicate clearly while delivering customer service to employees and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of office, campus, and/or technology facility areas, including perimeters, parking areas, loading docks, and common spaces; document observations per post orders.
  • Monitor access points and assist with access control activities such as checking identification, managing visitor check-in, and directing deliveries and/or service providers to designated areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, reporting, and coordinating with site contacts and/or public responders as directed.
  • Complete timely, detailed reports and logs using written and/or electronic systems, including incident reports, patrol activity, and unusual activity notifications to site leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Loss Prevention is preferred.
  • CPR Certification is preferred.
  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
