Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Responder in Charlotte, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. As an armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a financial institution location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and incidents with professionalism and clear communication. You will support employees and visitors with exceptional customer service, complete detailed reports, and collaborate with site leadership and teammates. This role reflects our agile, reliable, innovative approach, delivering through teamwork and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients at a financial institution location by carrying out assigned security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Perform armed patrol duties, maintaining required equipment and following all post orders, licensing requirements, and Allied Universal protocols.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting events and communicating promptly with site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter access points to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points, observe visitor and employee activity for unusual behavior, and complete required reports, logs, and shift briefings per site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
