As a Security Officer - Flex Unarmed - Campus Site in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a higher education location, you will conduct routine foot and driving patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, customer-focused communication. You will support students, faculty, staff, and visitors while documenting observations and coordinating with site partners. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, common spaces, and perimeter routes to help to identify unusual activity, unsecured areas, and policy concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including providing assistance, contacting appropriate campus resources, and documenting actions taken.
  • Monitor access points and interior areas during patrols, helping to manage visitor flow and reporting maintenance issues, hazards, and suspicious conditions to site leadership.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs, communicate updates to supervisors and/or site contacts, and support security-related operations during special events and high-traffic periods.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
