As a Security Officer - Part-Time Research Patrol in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol campus areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will support access control and badge processes, respond to concerns, and communicate clearly with staff, students, and visitors while documenting activity. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal post orders, security-related procedures, and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, parking lots, and perimeter routes; working environments and conditions may vary by location and shift.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, suspicious activity, fire alarms, and/or policy violations, and request additional support when needed.
  • Monitor access points and common areas, help to identify unauthorized persons and/or hazardous conditions, and communicate directions and information to the appropriate parties.
  • Complete timely reports, logs, and incident documentation, and communicate relevant observations to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 2+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
