Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Perimeter Patrol in Tempe, AZ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will conduct routine rounds, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to situations with calm professionalism. You will communicate clearly with staff and visitors, document activity, and support a welcoming environment through strong customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, donors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the facility, parking areas, and perimeter to help to identify unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations, with working conditions varying by site.
  • Control access by monitoring entrances, verifying identification and/or credentials as required, and directing visitors to appropriate check-in areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating conflicts, coordinating with site leadership, and contacting law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Complete timely security-related reports and logs, preserve observations and evidence when required, and maintain assigned equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies and post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
  • Have 6 months+ armed security/law enforcement/military experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
