Job Description


As a Security Officer - TWIC Verified Patrol in Tampa, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access control using a computer or tablet as needed. You will communicate clearly with staff and visitors, document activity, and respond to requests with a customer-service mindset. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access control policies, and/or emergency response activities as needed at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and reporting requirements.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of warehouses, yards, docks, parking areas, and perimeter fencing to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor vehicle and trailer movements by observing entry and exit activity, verifying credentials and/or documentation as directed, and directing drivers and visitors to the appropriate areas.
  • Complete written and/or electronic reports, maintain activity logs, and communicate updates to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 1+ years’ law enforcement experience or 2+ years’ security supervisor/manager experience or 3+ years’ security experience.
  • Have a TSA issued TWIC.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
