Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Utilities Patrol in Dallas, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a utilities location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, remain highly visible, and help to identify and report security-related concerns. You will control access at key points, communicate clearly with site personnel, and document activity using site technology. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out Allied Universal and site-specific security-related procedures, access control processes, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, substations, parking areas, and perimeter fencing to help to deter unauthorized entry, vandalism, and theft.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, gates, and other control points; respond to alarms, suspicious activity, and service requests using a calm, problem-solving approach.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations, coordinate with site operations and/or public responders as directed, and assist with scene control until relieved.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and unusual conditions in written reports and logs; communicate security-related information to supervisors and client contacts as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An Armed Guard Card/License is required.
  • A Level III Armed Certification is required for Texas only.
  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
