Job Description


As a Security Officer - Perimeter Roundsman in Mount Laurel, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas at a dynamic production and studio location, completing routine rounds, documenting activity, and responding to alarms and service requests. Your visible presence helps to deter security-related incidents while you deliver clear communication and customer service to staff and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Control access to the location by monitoring entry and exit points, greeting visitors, verifying identification and/or credentials, and directing authorized guests, vendors, and employees.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and escalating to site leadership and/or emergency services when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout interior areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Document security-related activity in detailed reports, including incident reports, shift logs, and observations; monitor cameras and alarms when assigned and report unusual activity.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A state, county, and/or city issued security license is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
