Job Description


As a Security Officer - Full Time - Mornings in Waterloo, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will greet employees and visitors, communicate clearly, and document observations while supporting site procedures and access control. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications and documenting actions taken per site guidelines.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, warehouses, offices, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access by verifying identification and/or authorization for employees, contractors, and deliveries, and directing visitors to the proper check-in process.
  • Complete security-related reports, daily activity logs, and incident documentation, and communicate relevant observations to site contacts and/or Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • This is primarily a driving post.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
